Approved language for Upgrade team to use with retail licenses

After July 31, 2023, we will not be renewing retail licenses. We will be offering customers pricing incentives to migrate to our new cost-effective team license. Syncfusion continues to offer a completely free community license for those of our customers with annual revenues of less than $1 million dollars.

The reason

We made this decision because we were finding retail licenses were to the detriment of our customers. Syncfusion releases regular security patches and bug fixes (at least 4 times a year) to all customers with an active subscription. We strongly believe that customers who continue to use our products without these fixes do so quite often to their detriment.

Migration path

With that in mind, we do have great subscription license options moving forward. This includes a 5- or 10-person team license, a project license, a division license, or a global license. We will also offer situation specific discounts to ease any financial burdens from this transition.

Should you choose not to upgrade to one of our subscription license options at the end of your current maintenance and support subscription, then Syncfusion can remain a part of your application(s), but the application(s) as a whole cannot be maintained. This would mean you cannot make any changes, fix any bugs, create any new versions, or otherwise modify any Customer product that includes or depends on Syncfusion’s software. This is not a new limitation that we are adding. This limitation is a part of our standard license agreement.

Subscription agreement

If you choose to upgrade, we want to be very transparent with you that the new license you would receive is a subscription license. You would need to continue to keep an active subscription to possess Syncfusion’s software. This means at the expiration or termination of the subscription, you would not need to recall anything that has already been distributed outside of your organization, but you would need to remove the Licensed Product from your systems and applications. At such time, you would not be able to continue to possess the Licensed Product or possess, distribute, lease, license, or provide maintenance to any applications that contain or depend on the Licensed Product.

Should you choose not to renew the retail licenses now and decide that you need to perform updates in the future, you will need to get licensing in place with one of the subscription options listed on our website.
